Through a combination of converting some old stone stables to the rear and creating additional space to the existing house, a light filled open plan kitchen dining and living area has been created, together with new flexible office space within the garden. The steeply sloping nature of the site has been dealt with by creating a series of stepped terraces which provide outside rooms relating to both the house and the office space. The use of large sliding folding aluminium doors and an aluminium lantern serve to connect the house to the lower terrace and flood the space with light.
