About the practice

DFA is a London-based architecture and interior design studio founded over 13 years ago by RIBA-chartered architect Debbie Flevotomou—a designer widely tipped as the next big voice in organic, sculptural, energy-positive architecture. Our mission is simple and bold: turn nature’s intelligence into landmark buildings. Through our THINK NATURE® methodology, we fuse parametric design with biomimicry—petal-like forms that catch light, shell-like structures that save material, cloud-inspired volumes that shape microclimate—delivering beauty with purpose and performance you can measure. We create cultural venues, hospitality destinations, luxury residences and flagship workplaces that are net-positive in energy, climate-responsive and audience-ready. Our teams script rule-sets for massing, daylight, wind and views; engineer kinetic façades that track the sun; and integrate PV, shading, passive cooling and water-harvesting so buildings give back more than they take. The result is architecture that doesn’t just sit in the landscape—it creates place, lifts brand value and reduces operational carbon, with clear KPIs (EUI, PV yield, comfort hours) to de-risk delivery. Guided by influences such as Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry but unmistakably her own, Debbie leads DFA from Mayfair, London to Riyadh, the Red Sea and the wider GCC, as well as Abu Dhabi and Athens—bringing a distinctive, feminine, future-focused voice to global city-making. If you believe your project should perform like nature, tell a compelling story, and stand the test of time—you’re in the right place. DFA partners with visionary clients to turn courageous briefs into headline-making, investment-grade architecture.
