Alteration to existing property, Listed Building - Grade II, Within a Conservation Area

We were commissioned in 2014 to significantly enlarge a key focal building within Wisborough Green Conservation Area and overlooking Wisborough Green. Initially the alterations and extension were met with resistance from the local authority and Parish Council. An in-depth analysis of the existing timber structure of the 16th Century cottage was used as the basis to form the concept and create an exceptional design to satisfy both the clients requirements and the local authorities concerns. After minor external modification and a slight redesign the scheme was submitted for planning and listed building consent to include an in-depth Design and Access/Historic Building Appraisal which was used as the basis to justify the massing and appearance of the proposal. Planning and Listed Building Consent were granted on the 5th July 2016
