The Clients project brief was to take the two existing surgeries (that existed adjacent and separate to each other) and merge the two facilities to create a light, bright airy space with one coherent character to symbolise the formal merger of the two practices. As well as extensive remodelling of the existing building a new extension was added to from new entrance, reception, waiting, circulation and consulting/treatment rooms - all naturally ventilated and daylight lit through extensive glazing and skylights. The project phasing had to ensure that the Medical Centres service was maintained throughout.
