New Build
Unit G02 Edinburgh House , 170 Kennington Lane , London , London , SE11 5DP , United Kingdom
The new state-of-the-art £40m David Ross Sports Village promises to be a fantastic new addition to The University of Nottingham’s Park Campus, providing all its sports teams and clubs with a great range of innovative new facilities in a lively and inclusive environment. The construction of the new complex will see the comprehensive redevelopment of the existing sports centre to make way for a new building, which will be three times the previous size. The complex will include a new main sports hall, 200 station fitness suite, sports science facilities and office accommodation. The creation of a modern, custom-built sporting infrastructure will play a major role in inspiring increased participation. The new building will house the largest University sports hall in the UK at 3,840sq.m that will offer 20 badminton courts, 4 netball courts, 4 volleyball courts, 4 basketball courts, 4 handball courts, 4 indoor hockey pitches, 2 korfball pitches and 4 futsall pitches. The building is also expected to include a climbing wall, indoor sprint track, strength and conditioning facility, archery and fencing hall, dance studios, snooker hall and martial arts dojo. Squash courts are proposed including a full glass court with spectator seating. The new development will help deliver the University’s ambition to significantly increase participation in sports at all levels — from encouraging children to experience a range of new sporting pastimes, through to the enhancement of elite performance at a national and international level.
