The existing two storey Victorian coach house in Islington was adapted internally to provide a new kitchen open to the living room. A new curved open tread staircase provides a focus for the space, with steel sides and balusters as well as solid Maple treads. The existing roof access was rebuilt as a top floor extension, providing a new bedroom and terrace. The walls to the top floor are finished externally in Oak boards, with a zinc roof and externally exposed treated timber rafters at the eaves and verge.
