New Build
David Coles Architects limited
1 Cobbs Court , High Street , Olney , MK46 5QN , United Kingdom
The southern orientation of this large individual home is ideal for passive forms of energy collection including solar panels, photovoltaic cells and geothermal energy. The house is designed with air collection and emission points at opposite ends of the roof so that the house is heated and cooled using heat recovery and passive stack systems. The house has been designed with a traditional form and elevation to the road. The rear elevation to the south retains the overall traditional form but makes greater use of glass and timber with overhanging / verandah elements overlooking the river and country park. The materials to be used include plain tiles to the roofs, random coursed local limestone, naturally finished hardwood (from sustainable sources), painted softwood, and reconstituted stone cills and heads.
