This substantial extension to Alameda Middle School in Ampthill was approved by Committee, who congratulated the team on ‘an innovative design which will be iconic in the town’. The new two-storey, ten classroom block includes offices, stores, WC facilities, three group rooms and a new hall. Expansion of the playground area provides a trim trail, replacement / additional parking and a coach turning facility. New canopies have been erected over the existing quad areas, together with new gates and a new pupil entrance. The scheme incorporates internal reconfiguration of the existing school to support its SEN provision and technology resources.
