Hanwell Community Centre Hanwell Community Centre in West London occupies the only remaining former school built during the late 19th century to provide a home to the children of poor families of London. The centre has provided important Community facilities on this site for more than 25 years but through lack of funding and general neglect was in desperate need of repair which the practice was approached to prepare a development strategy and master plan for its regeneration. The regeneration strategy involved a forward plan to complete immediate repairs to the fabric of the building as well as the general refurbishment of the Community Centre facilities. The practice proposed a conservation management plan to ensure that the works were carried out sensitively with respect to the listed status of the building.
