Sited in Greenbelt land, New Build
New build house in Berkshire receives planning approval within the green belt. Local parish Council complimentary and welcomed the contemporary design and sensitive approach to green belt setting. The new house replaces a run-down 1960's bungalow with a contemporary generous family accommodation. The house has been designed to take advantage of the wooded south facing garden with the lounge, kitchen, dining room and family room on the ground floor providing open plan living opening onto a south facing patio and garden with large panels of sliding glass walls. Separation of rooms, when required, is provided by sliding doors which disappear into the walls to maintain the open feel. The new stair leads to four large first floor bedrooms and a landing with a double height space looking into the lounge and providing dramatic views of the garden and beyond. A new entrance with generous lobby also leads to the garden, but also separates the garage and potential music room / office from the main house. The house has two facades; the single storey with plain tiled roof responds to the adjoining bungalows whilst the garden view provides a dramatic unashamedly two storey contemporary facade.
