Alteration to existing property, Within a Conservation Area
Crawford Bond Architects Ltd , Prama House , 267 Banbury Road , Oxford , OX2 7HT
Residential Extension Commission: North Oxford, Oxfordshire 4 Client: Private Client. Type: Residential extension. Brief: This project, now complete , was a large single storey rear / side extension to a large detached period house on the Woodstock Road, North Oxford. The existing property was set over 3 floors and sat within generous grounds. Our clients wanted to make significant alterations to the rear of the property to create a large, open plan family room with wine cellar and laundry facilities. This space was to be traditional in finish and feel and needed to complement the existing property. In addition to these works at ground floor, alterations were also proposed throughout the remainder of the property, including the re-instatement of an original staircase and entrance hall. 3 new gable dormers were also proposed at roof level. To the front of the property a new parking area was to be formed with electronic gates access from the main road. Build Cost: Estimated at £300k. Status: Completed September 2013.
