Brief: This project, now complete, was the addition of a large single storey rear extension and loft conversion to a semi-detached property in Headington, Oxford. The existing property is victorian in era and was originally set over 2 floors with a large rear garden. Our client wanted to make significant alterations to the rear of the property to create a generous open plan kitchen / dining area. This space was to be modern in finish and feel and had to complement the existing property. Large bi-folding glass doors open onto a decked area to the rear. In addition to these works at ground floor, the loft space of the property was also converted in order to provide an additional bedroom with en-suite facilities. To maximise space within the loft a large rear dormer was added under permitted development. Build Cost: Estimated at £300k. Status: Completed October 2011.
