The development consists of the construction of a new built house as the main residence of a private client. The existing house on site and few of the outbuildings will be demolished. The house is arranged over two floors plus a basement and is based on a square plan with rooms on each floor arranged around a central top-lit stairwell. The house is flat roofed with areas of roof at different levels and two substantial chimney stacks rising above the main roof level. The volume of the entire top floor is shifted by about 1.5m towards the south west relative to the ground floor, creating an overhang / shading on the south and west façades, while allowing for increased light coming through the glazed roof sections on the north and west aspects of the ground floor. Pergolas and outbuildings extend the main square volume of the house into the surrounding landscape. External works include the construction of a swimming pool, landscaped terraces and outbuildings as pool pavilion and mower shed.
