Cowan Architects were appointed by Mount Green Housing Association to carry out a feasibility study and Masterplan design for an existing housing estate in Reigate, Surrey. The result of the research and resident consultation identified a reworking of the layout of the estate enabling the development of an additional 45 properties. In addition proposals for new landscaping and resolving parking issues across the estate were addressed. The project was designed to be carried out over a number of phases to minimise disruption to existing residents. The properties were a mixture of 3 and 4-bed houses and 2-bed flats and included a new social meeting space for residents. All properties were designed to achieve Code Level 4.
