Corstorphine + Wright have worked with Trinistar Manchester on a £14 million project to transform the landmark Manchester Royal Exchange building into a premium leisure and retail destination for the city. The three-phase project included the £7.8 million refurbishment of the northern offices, a shop front design strategy and major refurbishment of the 19,000 sq ft retail arcade, along with cleaning the external façade and the installation of exterior lighting to enhance the appearance of the Grade II listed building. The new-look Royal Exchange will become home to some of Manchester’s best independent retailers, providing them with a prestigious, central location that would usually be out of their reach due to high rents, as well as safeguarding an iconic building for future generations.
