Refurbishment of a prestigious Grade II listed 3-storey stately home in The Cotswolds. Works included extensive re-modelling of the historic landscaped gardens and period features, construction of a subterranean garage, and new service infrastructure. CMS coordinated the wider design team, managed listed building issues and ensured compliance to conservation criteria. The principal staircase was replaced with a new cantilevered Portland Stone staircase and the roof clad with traditional, locally sourced stone tiles in diminishing courses, with swept valleys at the bottom. The client recently engaged CMS again to develop an ornate orangery in the grounds, using a combination of MMC and natural Bath stone exterior.
