Listed Building - Grade II
Bryngwilla Lodge , St Martins Road , Gledrid , Oswestry , Shropshire , SY10 7AY , United Kingdom
Built in 1820, Shellbrook Hill is thought to have been designed by a pupil of Sir John Soane. The initial project addressed alterations that were undertaken in the 1930's, including large steel water tanks installed in the roof space to supply a new plumbing system to serve a new bathroom as well as Crittal metal windows. The windows were removed, openings bricked up and the external waste and rainwater downpipes rationalised. The water tanks and bathroom were also removed and the layout returned to the original arrangement. A new en suite shower room was discretely accommodated within a former maid's cupboard. Phase II of the project includes further internal reordering removing more recent alterations, as well as various external masonry repairs including garden walls and the original stone balustrade to the terrace.
