Child Graddon Lewis has been appointed by Hackney Council to prepare a conservation-led, mixed use regeneration scheme for a Terrace of 16 properties on Dalston Lane. Although not listed the properties are within a Conservation Area and have been designated Buildings of Townscape Merit. In preparation of the submission of a planning application CGL has carried out consultation with local residents,stakeholders and English Heritage. The proposals involve the retention of the buildings front façade and spine walls, and extension at the rear with a contemporary façade and a new mansard roof across the length of the terrace. Approximately 44 residential units will be created, along with 1,000sqm of retail space – all to meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and Lifetime Homes Standard.
