Charles Barclay Architects were asked to restore and re-model a victorian terraced villa in Battersea. The rear extension was rebuilt in a modern idiom to house the master bedroom and bathroom and the entire ground floor was opened up to the garden by means of a bay window and bifolding doors. The interior spaces of the house have been sculpted and detailed to give a clean, modern feel and the judicious installation of rooflights ensures that day light is diffused throughout the house. Materials used include walnut flooring, concrete kitchen counters and an all-glass bay window.
