Brief: To design a new state-of-the-art facility that enable the College to teach students and professionals the skills required for the development of the energy sector in East Anglia. Detail: The new centre will be 2 stories, 2600m² and will provide specialist accommodation including crisis training facilities and a marine navigation suite. The building will unify the existing buildings on site, creating a central courtyard area that connects all of the individual campus buildings. Funded by the LEP, the building has required considerable consultation with Stakeholders and the College to ensure the tight budget and timescale are adhered to and the building provides the facilities that are required today, whilst remaining flexible enough for the College to adapt to future curriculum changes. This has required excellent collaboration and communication which will also ensure the project is on time and on budget. Sustainability: The building has been designed in line with the BREEAM Very Good Principles and Standards.
