Chadwick Dryer were approached to come up with proposals for the renovation and ideas for an extension to an existing kitchen, diner, and utility area whilst not significantly increasing the floor area. Our solution was to increase the volume of the space with a series of stepped heights with key areas identified with large rooflights. The main feature was an electrically operated fully opening skylight which allows the feeling of being outside. The approach brings light and importantly sunshine throughout the day into the west facing property and enables views of the sky beyond the neighbouring terraced properties. Oversized sliding doors open onto a flush terraced area. A built in bench enables the dining area to sit to one side of the room allowing for seating in the remainder of the room.
