Passivhaus EnerPHit pre-certification has been achieved on the completion of Phase 1 of this two phase project. Phase 1 included external wall insulation, new windows & the installation of whole house heat recovery ventilation. Phase 2 will entail the construction of the rear extension, renovation of the entire ground floor, and the installation of an air source heat pump. Cayford modelled the building in PHPP, and the building is Pre-Certified anticipating final energy reductions to be 96% from the original situation. (Heat demand of 13 kWh/sqm.yr) This is a classic 3 bedroom Victorian terrace built around 1870, and shows what can be possible with these houses. This is one of the most energy efficient retrofit projects in the UK.
