In 2005 Cassidy + Ashton were part of a Shortlisted Bidder Team working with Taylor Woodrow on the submission of a large development for BSF in Lancashire. The Barden site, known as the Burnley Campus was to comprise of a 6th Form School and a Primary School interlinked, sharing facilities as far as possible and designed as a single entity in scale with their occupants and usage. The Burnley School’s 6th Form section included a Sports Hall, Public Library, and Faith Centre in addition to educational and administration space, all accessed off a central Atrium. The Primary School was to be made up of mainstream Primary Key Stages 1 and 2, a Primary Special Educational Needs School (GDL), a Nursery and Full Day Care facilities, together with a Hydrotherapy Pool grouped around a central courtyard.
