This comprehensive project centred on the complete refurbishment of a semi-detached house in quiet residential street in Central London. The property, initially in a suboptimal condition, was acquired by our clients with the intention of undergoing a thorough refurbishment and expansion prior to their occupancy. The project includes strategic reconfiguration, single and double rear extensions, and a loft conversion with rear dormer. Our design approach prioritized unlocking the full potential of the house while seamlessly integrating new elements to maintain harmony with the existing structure. A significant ground floor extension was introduced, creating a vibrant dining room and an open-plan kitchen with expansive views of the rear garden, bathing the space in natural light. This extension also accommodates a new laundry and pantry room. On the first floor, a reconfigured layout incorporates a family bathroom, utility room, and an extended bedroom at the rear, optimizing the use of available space. The existing loft was transformed into a luxurious master bedroom with an en-suite, walk-in wardrobe and small roof terrace, facilitated by the addition of a hip-to-gable roof extension and addition of a rear dormer. The cumulative impact of these enhancements results in an augmentation of over 60m2 to the original footprint of the house. CASA A+D provided a range of services, including initial design studies, guidance and submission of planning applications, coordination of the new structure with the architectural design, and the development of all necessary technical drawings. Our involvement extended to advising on the tender process, recommending builders, and meticulously reviewing their quotes. Currently, the project is underway on-site, and we remain actively engaged, addressing queries as they arise, ensuring the seamless progress of the development.
