The Masterplan for the new Economic Free Zone in Jordan. Creation of a Dry Port, Freight Airport, Road Intersection and Railway to allow manufacturing and export across the globe from this uniquely positioned Smart City. The masterplan is made up of a new infrastructure network supporting varying sizes of industrial and technology plots, with a mix of key activities and processes. This is supported by ‘smart city’ technology and support, residential areas, community facilities and a sustainable design agenda. This project will provide employment for the local communities in Jordan as well as stimulus for the country’s economy, the project is supported by King Abdullah II of Jordan. The whole area is tied together by a green landscaped corridor with facility nodes at key points. Camillin Denny Architects have masterplanned the design for new city providing an overall design approach to the masterplan as well as the guidelines for use and occupation of each individual plot. The zone is already open for business with a number of anchor tenants already in place and operating their industries from the new city.
