We are proposing to transform the former castle Irwell student village site in Salford into an attractive new residential neighbourhood. The Castle Irwell student village in Salford is to be transformed into an estate of 500 homes – complete with a primary school, shops and sport facilities. The derelict site, owned by the University of Salford, will boast new family homes and riverfront apartments. Site Location The site is situated between the River Irwell boundary to the north and east, Cromwell Road to the south and Littleton Road to the west. Before the sale, the University had drawn up initial plans to transform the site into a new residential neighbourhood comprising 500 homes. Salboy are committed to delivering this original vision and have spent the last few months working up detailed plans for an attractive, welcoming new neighbourhood – all set around three acres of new publicly accessible green space, with allocated space for a new two-tier school and areas for commercial use to serve the surrounding area.
