The demolition & construction of a replacement dwelling, The Boathouse, St Mawes was an award-winning design by Ross Edwards, receiving a 'Special Commendation Award for a New Building' at the Cornish Buildings Group Awards in 2008 & featuring in many design magazines. Completed in October 2007 as a replacement for the existing, the building is stepped back into the hillside overlooking the Percuil River, the contemporary design sitting perfectly in this area of outstanding natural beauty,combining comfort with functionality. Frost Builders undertook the challenge, which subsequently required a complete rebuild. Two thirds of the property was developed as the living area; featuring a spiral staircase, round windows, a huge open-plan living area with glass skylights & a stunning view over the water; the remainder devoted to boat storage.
