Courtleigh House , 74-75 Lemon Street , TRURO , Cornwall , TR1 2PN , United Kingdom
Merry Mead was an ordinary dwelling occupying an extraordinary site just yards from St. Mawes Castle, with far-reaching coastal views. Such a special site deserved an innovative approach to residential architecture. The site had many constraints to overcome, such as a steep slope, planning sensitivity due to the proximity of a scheduled monument, and the increase in overall size required to give the client a new house design that was commensurate with the site. Architect Ross Edwards achieved planning consent for a contemporary two storey dwelling, meeting the aspirations of the client, Parish and Cornwall Councils. CAD Architects continued to work with the client and contractor to deliver a stunning modern home design.
