CAD Architects were appointed by the developer as Lead Consultant to manage a planning application on circa 70 acres of agricultural land adjoining Highertown Truro. As residential development architects, we had to deal with a complex site with significant ecology and challenging topography. The land was not allocated as housing land, although it had previously been identified in the SHLAA and in the Truro and Threemilstone Area Action Plan. With the assistance of a wide range of consultants and in the face of local objection and Local Authority ambivalence, CAD Architects brought about a consent for 275 houses on part of the site.
