Alteration to existing property, Within a Conservation Area
Forest Road, Kew, Richmond is the project that sprung C3M Studio forward into forming a small practice, from the founding director Clare Moore & Christopher Cockrell, both holding positions in large commercial practices. The project was an evolution of the initial aspiration from the client (a side return and rear extension) then sale to move to another house nearby. Then with the options presented and crafted by C3M Studio, the realisation that the added value of a basement with access to the garden, and a large rear roof extension, resulting in the family not selling once complete and still living there to date in 2022. C3M studio visited the client over the festive break of 2021, the family now with a dog and one child at University and one at Secondary school, said the prospect of moving in 2010 seems like an idea they never had even considered, after now enjoying the completed project for over a decade, that has held value at a greater value than other properties in the street. We are now looking for a potential site for this client, to plan their country home for the balance of rural countryside to suburban london living.
