A new build private dwelling located in a semi-rural location and designated greenbelt. The new house replaced an existing bungalow on the site. A sensitive approach to design, consultation with the local community and planning department resulted in a successful planning decision. The house was designed for the planned retirement of the owners and needed to make provision for the clients advancing years while at the same time providing flexibility for occasional accommodation for their large dispersed family on special occasions. The house achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and incorporated Solar Voltaic panels, MVHR and triple glazing.
