New build construction of 36 houses for social rent and shared ownership. One of our clients key performance criteria on this scheme was to provide an environmentally sustainable design solution utilising a ‘fabric first’ approach. BYA provided a 25% improvement against Building Regulations including a life cycle analysis of the impacts of various materials, resulting in the use of A or A+ ratings under the Green Guide. Low carbon technology was also used such as solar thermal heating panels and MVHR systems. The dwellings also achieved Life Time Homes compliance, Secured By Design and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 accreditation.
