New build children's centre facility for Surestart Norris Green incorporating day nursery, adult education training centre, Primary Care Trust treatment rooms and Connexions advice and training centre for young people. The building has been designed holistically to provide a totally 'green' and eco friendly solution. The thermal mass of the fabric of the building has been increased to minimize heating during the winter period and requirements for cooling during the warmer months. The building is 95% naturally ventilated and has gravity fed rainwater recycling feeding all wc's and provisions for landscape irrigation. The creche facility , in fact the entire centre has been designed and highly influenced by the Reggio Emilio approach to childcare.
