The Annabelle Davis Centre is an ambitious project to create a network of family resiliency centres, being led by the Young People’s Counselling Service. BBA were appointed as Architect for the first centre (Yaxley) and assisted in developing the Strategic and Design Brief for future sites. Each centre will have a unique offering of services, specific to the community that it serves and the key to its’ success will be an integrated and collective approach to finding solutions. In both delivering the first Annabelle Davis Centre and developing a Strategic Brief for future sites, BBA have been engaged with a range of diverse stakeholders: Trustees, Patrons, Counsellors, Vicars, CEOs of Partner Organisations, Politicians and, mostly importantly, young people. The emerging solutions are a direct response to the ongoing dialogue with these individuals and communities. Initial proposals were developed to facilitate a fundraising initiative. The success of this programme resulted in Persimmon Homes East Midlands agreeing to fund the refurbishment of the first site, a former caretaker's bungalow on a school site. Additional phases to further transform the building are planned, subject to funding.
