The private client for this new-build mixed-use scheme had acquired a site in a busy London Street currently occupied by a single storey fast-food outlet with a view to constructing a ground floor and basement restaurant / bar space with two apartments above. The limited footprint existence of services in the pavements bounding the site meant that there was limited space available to create adequate space for the required uses, but the production of a BIM model during the design phase meant that we could maximise the space available by interrogating the model from all angles and at all levels. In terms of improving the street scene the new building will effectively restore this corner plot to something like it's original scale rather than the single-storey useage it currently has.
