This is a multi user facility comprising 2 GP surgeries, pharmacy, health food cafe and extensive PCT services including endoscopy, diagnostics, dentistry and minor ops. The new medical facility forms the centrepiece of the redevelopment of Lytham Hospital, Lancashire. The contemporary design compliments the immediate context and makes references to the history of locality through the use of traditional materials and colour palette assembled in a contemporary manor along with reclaimed artifacts from the original hospital. The cruciform plan form gives compact accommodation for over 3 floors providing an area of 4,500 square metres, is contracted around a full steel frame focussed around a triple height central atrium bringing light and natural ventilation to the heart of the deep plan space.
