A property with the need for accommodating disabled use. The challenge with this project was to incorporate a passenger lift in to a residential property for an automated wheelchair while also retaining natural daylight and maximum space within the house. The lift was located centrally within a glazed shaft allowing light to flood areas when the lift was in use, window apertures were created to allow light to come in to the rooms adjacent to the lift shaft. With a central location also came maximum access for wheelchair use with ability to get to every level of the house. A full refurbishment of the property and in excess of double the square footage created an impressive and useable family home for our Client.
