Green Pastures is within the AONB and Green Belt and therefore development is heavily restricted. Planning permission to replace the existing property with a new dwelling was granted in 2010 and building works on the new house were completed in December 2011 The new home takes advantage of the outstanding views across the Chilterns on the steeply sloping site and provides improved and practical living accommodation. The design rationale behind the scheme is based on the concept of a traditional farmhouse which has been modified and extended. The property is set in traditional gardens with its own woodland, giving the impression that the house has existed on the site for a sustained period of time. In 2020 Brocklehurst Architects designed a new orangery and garden room to complement the new house.
