Brightman Clarke Architects were appointed to design our clients a new build home to replace an existing, tired dwelling. Set in the rural surroundings in Derbyshire, this design proposal used the local vernacular, with a contemporary edge, to provide a contemporary home which is respectful of it's context. The material palette of the new home has been driven by the local area by using stone from local quarries and black timber cladding to suit the rural location of the site. Natural daylight and views of the countryside are maximised with large areas of glazing to the rear of the property.
