The house was built in late 1930's and displayed faint evidence of an Arts and Crafts house but with few surviving details. Modern joinery and awkward room layouts meant the house did not match its beautiful location on the edge of woodland with 180 degree views of trees at the front, and far reaching elevated views from the rear. The plan form was changed and room functions swapped as well as a glazed extension added to better suit the family. A galleried stairwell was added with Arts and Crafts referenced joinery. A new front bay was formed with reference to Voysey in an oak frame with and herringbone brick panes. . Vaulted rooms were added on the first floor with new trusses. A new landscaped "cottage" garden was included as well as better pedestrian and vehicle access at the front. Comprehensive thermal upgrades were included. External wall, under floor and warn roof insulation were all carefully detailed around new brick plinths and timber framing and vaulted ceilings and suspended floors..
