This scheme was won in open competition organised by Milton Keynes Development Corporation. Our client chose to construct a series of office buildings of domestic scale for freehold purchase with sizes varying form 400sq.ft. to 500sq.ft. In addition to office use, a restaurant was provided in the listed stone barn overlooking the ponds, giving the scheme a physical and social focus. The design of this project maintained the disposition of the existing buildings and reflected the materials and forms which existed as a result of agricultural function. We also sought to maintain the parkland character of the wider area through informal planting and the creation of a nature reserve.
