Boyer | design was appointed to set out a re-development vision for the site at St.Bartholomews Hospital in Rochester, Kent. Boyer | design worked closely with the appointed heritage consultant to produce a masterplan that carefully considered retention and demolition of various parts of the main building. Development pockets were hence identified around the building to enhance the development potential of the site. The proposed vision document was presented to Rochester City Council and has progressed into a full planning application for the redevelopment of the site. The site is within the ‘New Road Rochester’ and ‘Star Hill to Sun Pier’ Conservation Areas. Furthermore, to the rear of the main building, is the Grade II Listed Waterworks/ Mortuary.
