Brownfield site
Bowman Riley Architects Limited
Wellington House , Otley Street , SKIPTON , North Yorkshire , BD23 1EL , United Kingdom
Bowman Riley Architects provided full design services on a new head office building for healthcare IT company, The Phoenix Partnership (TPP) to support the company’s significant expansion plans. Bowman Riley lead a full design team comprising mechanical and electrical engineers, structural engineers and quantity surveyor to successfully deliver the project. Committed to the town of Horsforth near Leeds, TPP needed a local site to accommodate its burgeoning team. Formerly a car showroom site, brownfield land was identified for redevelopment, just 500 meters from their existing office. The new 87,727ft² head office provides bespoke office accommodation for up to 650 staff over four storeys including 18 formal meeting rooms, a number informal meeting rooms, a dining area to cater for up to 320 staff members at one time and 332 car-parking spaces, 90 cycle spaces and 9 motorbike spaces. The building provides a bespoke new home for TPP, respectful of its setting with a mill-like appearance to the front façade and a more contemporary glazed façade to the rear with views over the beck and woodland. This innovative office development used leading-edge construction processes to create a thoughtfully designed building that embraces its architectural surroundings, providing a positive and long-lasting legacy for TPP.
