New Build
Boon Brown Limited , Motivo , Alvington , Yeovil , Somerset , BA20 2FG , United Kingdom
The two storey redevelopment includes 3 new exhibition halls, café, shop and state of the art conferencing and banqueting suites. As well as increasing the capacity to further grow the collection, the new museum has improved it’s interactive and modern technology with more functionality and displays than ever before, including a leading edge reality experience where visitors can ‘virtually’ re-spray a real Mini motorcar. As a charitable trust, John Haynes’ original goal – to share his private collection of historic cars for the enjoyment of anyone from anywhere in the world be they fellow enthusiasts, families, tourists, or schools alike, whilst also continuing to have an educational value giving insight into the historical development and evolution of motorcars and engineering – has remained at the forefront of this project. As a driver for growth in Tourism and Leisure in the region, the museum has been designed as a landmark establishment that aspires to: Be the best of the best in the international historic motoring world Conserves and preserves the UK’s motoring heritage Broaden and deepen understanding of the history, evolution, design and technology of the motor car and other motor vehicles throughout the ages and from around the world Provide a unique and enriching educational experience through direct contact with authentic motoring related objects. Offer a relevant and enjoyable experience to attract the widest possible audience. Be a focus for the community Offer a unique venue for conferencing, private functions and other special events
