James and Christine had bought a 1970's bungalow in a pretty village near Cambridge and wanted to build a new family house within which to raise their children. We developed a brief and worked through a number of design ideas before deciding on the final design. The house is formed of two wings containing the open-plan kitchen, bedrooms and snug, connected by a lofty central link. The central space has an exposed Green Oak Frame creating a welcoming living area. The exterior is a mix of render and oak cladding to compliment the rural nature of the village.
