Private residential house: The proposals were for a major face lift & total refurbishment of a 1970s dilapidated property. The client had specific requirements,including a considered design, suitable for their needs now & in the future, our focus was on the clients, their wellbeing & creating a solution that suits them. The property is to allow them to continue working for as long as necessary, but also to be suitable for them as they grow older, with enough space for the entertainment of their family. The result in spatial organisational terms included all main living spaces positioned to the rear to enjoy maximum privacy light & natural heat with direct access to a wonderful garden. The first floor is dedicated to sleeping, with the majority of the bedrooms & bathrooms. The property has been designed, so it is ready for the occupants to live there in their old age. (Something we are doing more often) The Lounge is a fun space being double height, linked to the master bedroom & top lit. All the rear living areas have large opening door systems allowing the occupants, to pour out into the garden. The property has been designed specified & executed to a very high standard through out the property which as Architects makes us smile almost as much as the clients being very pleased with their home. The property has had its energy issues considered, with the :- being added, solar panels, underfloor heating, upgrade of insulation & external insulation throughout.
