Conversion and extension of a Cotswold stone barn. Braydon Brook Farm consists of a Grade II Listed Farmhouse, a Cotswold Stone Barn and outbuildings which are within the house£s curtilage. The barn was converted in the 1990£s and has compromised accommodation and needs a general overhaul. We were appointed by the client to advise on how to achieve 3 additional bedrooms and a generous living space and advise on landscape proposal to provide a division from the house. Our concept was to reinstate the barns interior back to a single volume stripping out two floors. We then proposed widening and lengthening a wing of the barn to provide all the ensuite bedrooms. We successfully agreed with English Heritage that the reestablishment of the main barn volume and general reinstatement of the original openings against an extension was of overall benefit to the barn and farmstead. The main space will provide a modern living area with kitchen, dining, and living that will meet the client£s needs in a light and airy treble height space. From this, one wing will provide a master bedroom suite and the other all the guest rooms
