Bibury Farm - A stone Cotswold farmstead of 5 Barns and Farmhouse that sits high on the Cotswold plateau. The quintessential English village with the same name and much loved by tourists, sits in the valley below. Blake Architects were the lead consultant for the conversion project from inception when in part it was being used as a working farm through to its completion as a luxurious holiday let destination. www.biburyfarm.com To achieve the clients low carbon goals, we followed a fabric first approach where possible using breathable insulation materials, used heat recovery systems and ground source heating from boreholes. Weaving these systems into the barns inconspicuously was one of the greatest challenges of the project but makes the barns easy to manage for the client, comfortable and with low long term running costs.
