Following a winning design pitch to Odeon we worked closely with our client on developing a design for their new concept of ‘fine dining and film’ where customers can enjoy a drink and fine food in the lounge or be served during the film as they recline in their luxury leather seats. The inaugural site was Whiteleys where the upper level was transformed to a luxury lounge bar and five boutique cinema screens accessed by a dramatic staircase entrance from the lower level where four original screens and entrance were refurbished. This was technically a challenging project with major structural alterations and new building works to be accommodated within a tricky site with many level changes. The staircase walls was mirrored to create an infinity effect and the lounge bar positioned to be visible as the customer started to climb the stairs. A laser cut ‘see through’ screen is both a decorative feature when viewed from the mall and a visual link with the lounge bar. The central bar has a stunning bespoke light fitting running its length and is seated on all four sides creating a hub of activity whilst there are quieter zones set back from this with a muted colour scheme and comfortable sofa seating.
