The proposal for the College of Occupational Therapists' building in Borough involved the removal of the existing, dated interior layout and the refurbishment of their front and back-of-house areas as well as creating a new roof terrace on the first floor. The new terrace will provide a valuable, pleasant green space for the College's users, accessible via a feature stair with a rooflight above allowing light into the central hub space below. By allowing light into the central areas of the plan the building's character is revitalised. This, in conjunction with a clean and elegant material palette and the subtle touch with which the complexity of a high DDA compliance requirement are handled gives the College a thoroughly modern and impressive new home
